Biology SL has no pre-approved UM equivalency in the IB section of UManitoba's approved AP/IB courses for credit. The omission is subject-specific, not a blanket SL exclusion: several SL subjects do earn credit on the same table, including Chemistry SL, Computer Science SL, Anthropology (Social and Cultural) SL, Mathematics SL, and Sports, Exercise and Health Science SL.
For admission, the absence is immaterial. UManitoba's IB high-school admission pathway expects three HL and three SL subjects with an overall minimum grade of 24, and Biology SL can occupy one of the SL slots. Program-specific subject prerequisites should still be confirmed against UM's IB requirements page for your target degree.
UManitoba IB credit is opt-in and proceeds in two steps for any eligible subject: release your official results to UM through your IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, then submit the Request for University Credit for AP or IB Results form. Because Biology SL is not on the list, there is no claim to file for this subject.
