Does University of Manitoba give transfer credit for IB English A: Language and Literature SL?

For UM's English-language proficiency requirement, "a grade of four or greater on the International Baccalaureate Higher Level English course" is one listed waiver criterion; SL English is not on that list. For most Canadian-resident applicants this gap is rarely load-bearing because UM also waives the ELP requirement for "ten consecutive years of residency in Canada" (measured from the Record of Landing date to program start), or for graduation from a Canadian-curriculum secondary school with a year-12 English literature grade of 75% or higher. The SL versus HL ELP distinction therefore matters mainly for international applicants without a qualifying residency or Canadian-curriculum pathway, who will need an approved English-proficiency test, the full IB Diploma at 24 or higher with English-medium instruction, or another listed waiver.
