This is a named equivalency for the gateway course. CISC 121, Introduction to Computing Science I, is the prerequisite for CISC 124 and CISC 203, so the credit sits at the front of the Computing sequence rather than off to one side.
Two things to check before relying on it. CISC 124 and CISC 203 both require a minimum grade of C- in CISC 121, and transfer credit carries no grade; Queen's does not publish how those interact, so email the School of Computing if you are Computing-bound. The award also closes the gentler entry points, since CISC 101, 110 and 151 may not be taken with or after CISC 121. Queen's caps HL transfer credit at 18.0 units overall.
