πŸ’‘Expert's Take

Our take: the calculus half of this award is the part to double-check. The chart's only mathematics entry is the pre-2019 "Mathematics HL" listing, effective term 200520. That legacy course was the calculus-heavy stream, and the IB itself positions Analysis and Approaches as the route for students who need strong calculus, with Applications and Interpretation built around modelling and statistics. An assessor comparing AI HL's lighter calculus content against MATH 110, Calculus I could reasonably confirm the STAT 100 half and route the calculus half elsewhere. Nothing on Regina's pages says this will happen; it is our editorial reading of a 2005 row applied to a post-2019 curriculum. After admission, confirm with Transfer Credit Services (transfer.credit@uregina.ca) before building a schedule around MATH 110.

What to watch for: the chart is an unofficial list of previously evaluated courses, and Regina notes equivalences more than 10 years old may require reassessment; the award is confirmed only by the post-admission assessment, which runs automatically once your IB transcript arrives. If the award stands, note that students who receive credit for STAT 100 may not receive credit for STAT 160, and Engineering's statistics requirement is STAT 289, which STAT 100 alone does not replace. At Standard Level, Applications and Interpretation SL has no published equivalency on the chart.

Official award line (IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation HL):
Minimum score: 5 ("A minimum grade of 5 is required for transfer," per the registrar's IB transfer policy)
Credit granted: STAT 100, Elem Statistics for Appl (3) and MATH 110, Calculus I (3), 6 credit hours total (chart entry "Mathematics HL," effective term 200520)
