Does Western University give transfer credit for IB Psychology HL?

• BA-stream module entry may still reference Psychology 1100E. The academic calendar for the BA Honours Specialization and the Major list Psychology 1100E as the required first-year psychology course. Since 1002A/B and 1003A/B are both antirequisites to 1100E, they almost certainly satisfy the same requirement in practice — and the department website confirms all programs use 1002 + 1003 — but the calendar text has not been updated for these BA modules. Students pursuing the BA pathway should verify with advising that 1002 + 1003 transfer credit is accepted in place of 1100E before relying on it for module entry.
• Affiliate college students — especially those at Huron — should confirm module entry rules with their faculty advisor. Huron’s Psychology module is structured around Psychology 1100E as the standard first-year prerequisite. Because 1002A/B and 1003A/B each list 1100E as an antirequisite, students who hold the IB transfer credit cannot subsequently take 1100E. Whether 1002 + 1003 satisfies Huron module entry in lieu of 1100E is not stated explicitly in the calendar and should be verified with a Huron advisor before accepting credit.
• Upper-year module requirements are not shortened by this credit. Accepting 1002 + 1003 clears the first-year psychology foundation — it does not reduce the full list of 2000–4000 level Psychology courses required by the Honours Specialization or Major.
