Does Western University give transfer credit for IB Chemistry HL?

The two-course split matters more than it appears. CHEM 1301A covers atomic structure, theories of chemical bonding, and the structure and stereochemistry of organic molecules. CHEM 1302B covers gases, thermodynamics, chemical equilibria, solubility, weak acids and bases, electrochemistry, and kinetics. Both courses carry laboratory components , 3-hour sessions every other week , and both must appear as prerequisites for the second-year courses listed above. Arriving with both credits means a student can step directly into any of those courses in second year without first occupying a first-year slot.

For students entering BMSc or Neurosciences programs, there is an additional layer: first-year Chemistry is a required module admission course carrying a minimum mark of 60%.
