IB Math AA HL earns 1.0 Western credit, made up of two 0.5-credit courses, Calculus 1000A and Mathematics 1229B, but the Math 1229B half is antirequisite to Mathematics 1600A/B, the first-year linear algebra course required by most upper-level modules in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, and Economics. Calculus 1000A is the standard first-year calculus entry point and is fully interchangeable with Calculus 1500A as a prerequisite for higher-level calculus courses.
