IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches is eligible for credit at Higher Level only. At a minimum final grade of 5, both campuses award MATH 1003 and MATH 1013, two named calculus courses rather than generic elective credit (UNB AP and IB transfer-credit table). UNB's table is HL-only, so SL is not eligible; our Math AA SL page covers that level.
MATH 1003 (Calculus I) and MATH 1013 (Calculus II) clear first-year calculus, but not first-year linear algebra: MATH 1503 (Introduction to Linear Algebra) is a separate requirement the IB award does not provide. Many second-year courses need both: Multivariable Calculus (MATH 2513) requires MATH 1013 and MATH 1503, and at Saint John several courses set a minimum grade of C in the prerequisite. Because IB credit posts without a UNB letter grade and outside the GPA, whether it meets a "minimum grade of C" prerequisite is a departmental call, so confirm rather than assume it auto-clears. Business and other management streams that name an applied calculus course (for example MATH 1823 or 1843) may likewise need faculty sign-off before MATH 1003 substitutes for it.
