On the UTSC IB chart for students registered in 2026-27, Chemistry HL earns two half-credits in subject area A10 (BR=NatSci): the first counts as CHMA10H3 with prerequisite access, the second is an unnamed natural-science breadth credit that satisfies no prerequisite on its own.
If you plan to continue in chemistry, the ordinary next course is CHMA11H3, whose only prerequisite is CHMA10H3. CHMA12H3 is different: it requires a grade of 70% or higher in CHMA10H3 plus MATA29H3 or MATA30H3, and secondary-school transfer credits carry no grades, so get written departmental confirmation before planning on CHMA12H3.
