Yes, students enrolled in any AP course, whether it is Calculus BC or English Literature, are able to receive expert one-to-one support with course material, multiple-choice and free-response strategies, as well as timed exam practice that follows College Board scoring guidelines. Tutoring is focused on exam preparation, since for most AP courses, the May exam determines the final score.

Tutors can

$70 USD per hour online for American clients, $90 CAD per hour online for Canadian clients, and $120 CAD per hour in person in Vancouver and Toronto. No examiner surcharge and no credential-based tier.
No advance payment
No packages, no prepaid hours, no subscriptions, and no long-term contracts. Families are invoiced monthly for the sessions already taught.
Cancel with 24 hours' notice
Sessions cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours ahead are never charged. The same rule applies to every family and every tutor.
First Session Satisfaction Guarantee
A family that is not satisfied after the first session is not charged for it. Exceptions apply.

How are AP exams scored, and what score do colleges want?
AP exams are scored 1 to 5 by the College Board. Many colleges award credit or advanced placement for a 3 or higher, but every college sets its own policy and selective programs often expect a 4 or 5, so check the policy at each college on the student's list rather than assuming.

When are AP exams, and when should tutoring start?
AP exams are given by the College Board every May on a set schedule. Regular weekly tutoring throughout the year is more effective than trying to catch up at the last minute, and in the last three to four weeks, sessions focus on timed full practice tests so that exam day brings no surprises.

Does AP coursework count toward the final score?
For most AP classes, the May exam alone determines the score, regardless of the grade earned in the class. The exceptions are portfolio and Capstone courses like AP Seminar, AP Research, and AP Art and Design, which have performance tasks completed during the course. This exam-focused setup is exactly why practicing with released questions and learning the right techniques is so important.

Should my child take AP or IB?
They are distinct systems: AP offers a selection of independent, exam-focused courses, whereas the IB Diploma is a unified program that includes internal assessments and a core component. The IB is a full curriculum instead of just a list of courses, and it spans four programmes for students from ages 3 to 19: the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme, the Diploma Programme, and the Career-related Programme. This means that choosing IB is usually about selecting an educational pathway for several years, not just preparing for one exam year. The best option depends on the student's school, individual strengths, and university goals. We provide tutoring for both, so our guidance is not influenced by promoting one path over the other.

What is Pre-AP, and do you support it?
Official Pre-AP courses are part of a College Board program, but some schools use the same label for their own honors classes, and this difference is important for planning. Yes, we help students in both Pre-AP and honors courses as they prepare for AP.

Do you support AP Capstone (Seminar and Research)?
Yes. AP Seminar and AP Research are designed to lead to the AP Capstone Diploma and include performance tasks throughout the course. Tutors guide students in research skills, argumentation, and presentation methods, and provide feedback on drafts written by students; however, the final submitted work must be the student's own, as required by College Board rules.

Will the tutor do homework or write essays for the student?
No. Tutors instruct, help with technique, and provide feedback on the student's own work; they do not complete graded assignments, write essays for submission, or handle anything protected by College Board exam security. Any score improvement results from the student’s own progress, which is the only improvement that matters on exam day.
